After a bit of a hiatus, the Nerd of God team is gearing up for a new season. We have a number of things planned, and we are excited about how things are shaping up. And to celebrate, we have launched a new "Retro" apparel line in the NoG Gear Shop [cafepress.com] to appear alongside our official NoG gear.
The Retro line comes in a variety of colors for men, women, youth, and even babies. Yes, that's right. Babies can be NoGs, too.

In the quest for a paperless office, or at least a more paper-free one, document scanners significantly reduce paper overload. As for options, several exist. Invest in a high-end, high-capacity sheet-feed office scanner at a cost of $500 to several thousand dollars or grab a tediously slow, inexpensive consumer flatbed (or an all-in-one with scanning capability) for as inexpensively as $50. These extremes, however, will either leave your bank account depleted or provide a less-than-optimal scanning experience. Right in the middle, however, you'll discover option three, the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 series document scanner. A relatively affordable alternative, it offers fast scanning, enhanced features and ease-of-use in a compact form factor.

Recent US laws emphasize the growing awareness of the dangers of cell phone-related distractions. Having a hands-free solution, be it a Bluetooth headset or an auto accessory, is not only safe but also required in many areas. Belkin's TuneBase Direct with Hands-Free gives iPhone users just that. Thankfully, it doesn't stop there.
Well, it's official. The Nerd of God Launch Contest is over and 10 lucky winners have been selected at random to receive software bundles valued in excess of $200 each. All courtesy of NoG and several very gracious sponsors, including Acronis [acronis.com], Cisco [cisco.com], Parallels [parallels.com], PopCap Games [popcap.com], Shirt Pocket [shirt-pocket.com], Symantec [symantec.com] and Telltale Games [telltalegames.com].

Watching videos on a laptop, or even a desktop with a large display, just doesn't compare to the comfort of your couch and the visual and aural splendor of a home theater. Want the best of both worlds? Well, the Seagate FreeAgent Theater takes you one step closer. Simply copy your media files to the included portable hard drive and "plug it into" your home theater.

Let's be honest. When someone mentions databases, phrases like "easy to use" and "incredibly cool" don't immediately spring to mind. More often we associate them with terms such as "sadistic" and "sleep-inducing." Well, Bento for iPhone and iPod touch, the portable version of FileMaker's popular personal database for the Mac, may change the way you think about data management products.
